The Nahual the Tlaxcala
Legend has it that one night some men left the pulquería in Santa Ana Chiautempan, Tlaxcala at 2 am, that was a cold and closed winter night.
¡Suddenly! On a nearby path, a menacing and huge black wolf with large jaws blocked their way.
One of those ranchers drew his pistol and shot him in the leg, the wounded wolf managed to flee.
Frightened, they returned to the pulqueria and the manager told them that this wolf was actually a very rich man who lives in the town.
One who had made a pact with the devil, who at night turns into an animal to steal cattle, was the feared nahual.
Horrified, he told them that this man would surely go to have some pulques right there in the morning after he healed his wound.
Upon hearing this, those men lost their drunkenness.
I can imagine how scared they must have been when they heard that it was someone they knew in town, how scary!
