NAHUALES
The legend about the nahuales is one of the oldest myths that exist in our country, told by our grandparents and by the grandparents of our grandparents, there is a great mystery behind these legends, which over the years it has been deformed, there are several versions and anecdotes about it that we will soon share with you.
Below you will find different cases that have been presented of these strange mythological beings.
The legend...
The legend of the Nahual says that they had the ability to transform into different animals such as wolves, coyotes, horses, vultures, frogs, axolotls, donkeys or turkeys, but all with an aspect of malice.
The grandparents comment that if the Nahual was injured while it was in its animal form, when it became a human, it kept the wound in the same area where it was injured, so they could realize who was one of these beings.
But that is not all, since it is said that when going out at night, the Nahuales needed to carry a leather belt and a used garment with them, this so that they could return to their humanoid appearance.
I had no idea about the garment that the nahuales have to wear in order to return to their human appearance, it is a very interesting fact.
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting, I remember that my uncles told me about the Nahuales.
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting, I remember that my grandparents told me about a community on the isthmus in the Sierra Mixe, to be exact, where a woman turned into a pig every night and went out to visit the whole town and they saw her return home at dawn what their neighbors said.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how a person can transform into an animal and then return to their human form. I really like this topic because my dad has told me many stories of people who had been Nahuales in my town.

ReplyDeleteIf you had heard something about the nahuales and that they had the shape of an animal and could later return to their humanoid form, but you did not know that it was necessary to have a garment for this, and that they also left marks to identify them, well that is interesting
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child I lived in a village. The people of that place said that there was an old man who at night had the power to become a black dog. When I heard that I remember that I couldn't sleep and I spent the whole night thinking that that dog was going to come into my room
ReplyDeleteDid you know that nahuales have different ways of calling them? like huave, otomi, tojolabal, zoque in different cultures

ReplyDeleteA few years ago we visited my grandmother in a town near Oaxaca where my grandmother told us that there was a nagual there and that it came out when it rained. We thought it was just a legend but as we passed by a house we noticed a very strange person who We were left feeling strange, to which my grandmother told us not to look back at her since it was a nahual
I barely heard that the nahuales needed to wear a leather belt to return to their original form.
